Ezequiel Garay Villani reached Benfica defender reached a preliminary agreement with Manchester United to move him during the winter transfer window, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.
As pointed out by the newspaper, the former Real Madrid defender agreed personal terms with Manchester United awaiting the formal agreement between the Department of the two clubs which will enable him to move to Old Trafford stadium.
United are seeking to secure the defensive line for the team during the current Il Mercato, and especially in light of repeated injuries suffered by captain Nemanja Vidic.
Garay joined the ranks of Benfica early last summer for 5.5 million euros from Real Madrid and is under contract with him until 2015.
